A friend auditioned a pair of Terra speakers at Speakers Etc. in Phoenix.
He liked the sound they produced and the looks of these "towers".

Above is a picture of the Terras, scanned from Speakers Etc. catalog.

I inquired as to the details of building these towers, and was informed the two
Focal 6V013 L woofers were in separate 20 liter chambers and each was vented to the rear with a 2" diameter tube, 3" long. The Focal TC90 Tdx tweeter was also in it's own chamber.

The crossover consisted of a 4.0 mH, 14 ga. coil in series with each woofer. and a 4.7 µ cap. and 1.5 Ohm, 5 watt resistor in series with the tweeter.

I then drew a construction guide.

I constructed a box from ¾" MDF using the guide above. The woofer chambers are
approximately 21 liters each, not counting the area taken by the rear of the drivers and the volume of the vent tubes.

The cabinet on the right with the side
removed shows the dual chamber
for the woofers. Crossover coils
and wiring are also installed.

"Vee" grooves at the vertical edges are ready for the ¾" quarter-round solid oak moldings. These moldings have been installed around the top.
An extra ½" MDF baffle has been installed on the front, that is ½" smaller on all sides than the front baffle. When the ¼" oak plywood is installed on all panels, this will result in a "Vee" groove ¾" by ¾", which will accept the ¾" quarter-round oak moldings.

Driver cut-outs have been routed (and sealed with plugs to keep dirt and sawdust out), bases
and edge moldings have been installed and sanding sealer has been applied.

Cabinets are finished, tweeters and  woofers have been installed.

tempered glass doors and brass hardware.
