Building the Altair
And expanding the original music system
into a home theater.

This is the original music system
in a "store bought" cabinet.

Built an equipment cabinet with
CD, DVD, and tape storage on
either side of the TV.
Also added a center channel speaker.

on ¼" Masonite pegboard.
Crossovers are three way.

Building the Subwoofer

The basic box, ¾" MDF, braced with
1 ½" solid oak poles. Notice the sub-box
for the "plate" amplifier.

The entire box is covered with ½" MDF,
then covered by ¼" oak plywood.
Notice the edges, ready to accept ¾"
quarter-round oak moldings.

Oak moldings have been installed on all edges. Sub woofer cabinet is sanded and
ready for finishing

Cabinet is finished, grill installed.
The Rear (Surround) Speakers

The Rear speakers are ready for finishing

Rear speaker installed on a home made
stand. Oak base and 2" square tubing.

Grill has been installed.
Focal 5NV4211 and TC90Tdx are used.

The Center Channel

Center channel box made from ¾" MDF, 
front panel is on top of box.

Box is ready for solid oak moldings
on the edges, crossover is installed, and 
"egg crate" foam lines the interior.

Rear of box, edges are ready for
solid oak moldings.
Shielded Drivers used are:
Two Focal 5V4411B mid/woofer
One Focal TC90 TDxB tweeter
